New cushion for Room 8 boys

As you may be aware, the Leader for the day has a number of cushions they are able to give out to children to sit on.  There has always been a girls and boys cushion.  Both these cushions were rather old and needed replacing.  Unfortunately, there were plenty of girls cushions available in the shops but no boys cushions.

Realising we had a problem, Izack mentioned this to his parents and they kindly sent this cushion in for the Room 8 boys to use.  Thanks to Izack and his whanau for the loan of this cushion.  The Room 8 boys think its great!

LMS Poetry and Speech Competition

Congratulations to all the Room 8 children who presented their Poems and Speeches in our class competition last week.  The standard was very high and it was wonderful seeing all the children standing up in front of their peers and confidently presenting their poems and speeches. Our finalists who went through to the LMS Competition on Wednesday were: Poems - Devi, Phoebe and Tyson Speech - Ben We are thrilled to announce that these four children confidently represented Room 8 and we were fortunate to have three of our students place in the top three. Tough Kids Challenge

The LMS children had a wonderful day on Thursday at the annual Tough Kids Challenge.  Every Room 8 child gave their best effort and I am so proud of them all.  It was a wonderful day followed by a lovely picnic and play at Elephant Park. I didn't manage to get photos of most of the Room 8 children as many raced on well ahead of me.  They were able to go at their own pace.

Christchurch School of Gymnastics

We had a successful trip to the Christchurch School of Gymnastics today.  The Room 8 children enjoyed all the activities at the 7 different stations set up.  The Coaches at the school commented on the wonderful manners and that the children gave everything a go and most importantly, had fun.  Thank you to the parent helpers who assisted us with this trip.
